Pacman 30th Anniversary's gameplay retains the classic style: you control Pac-Man as he navigates a maze to collect the pellets. Once Pac-Man has eaten all the pellets in the maze, you complete the level and advance to the next. Each turn, you have a total of three lives. If Pac-Man touches a moving ghost, you lose a life and have to replay. Additionally, if you eat a power pellet, Pac-Man can turn ghosts green and eat them for a short time to earn higher bonus points.
In the maze there are four colored ghosts:
- Blinky (red) directly pursues you.
- Pinky (pink) tries to block your path.
- Inky (blue) moves in a complex pattern.
- Clyde (orange) sometimes chases, sometimes wanders without a clear pattern.
